Subaru Hybrid Tourer on Show in Tokyo

This years Tokyo Motor Show will see a lot of hybrid vehicles unveiled. Subaru will add their latest design study to the list of green vehicles when they showcase the Subaru Hybrid Tourer. The design incorporates a lot of Subaru’s latest design and technology innovations.

The vehicle utilizes Subaru’s 2.0 litre next generation, direct-injection, horizontally opposed turbo charged petrol engine. This engine is assisted by 2 separate electrics motors. At the front of the vehicle will be a 10Kw unit that will be engaged when the car is ascending hills and a separate 20Kw unit at the rear will power the car when the main engine power is not required.

Being a Subaru, the vehicle will of course have All Wheel Drive (AWD) and will incorporate a start/stop system to improve efficiency.
